About the 48″ Woodland Shaker Writing Desk (16-170):

This simple writing desk works well in any room in your home.  It features a solid wood top with a single English dovetail drawer.  The drawer sits on full extension drawer glides and uses the same wood as the desk. You can upgrade to a lap top drawer with no additional cost. This desk is small enough to place in a corner or in a room with limited space. Its versatile design allows you to pair this desk with any decor.  This desk ships unfinished or in your choice of 4 wood species:

  • Red Oak
  • Brown Maple
  • Rustic Cherry
  • Rustic Quarter Sawn White Oak

You can also customize any of these wood species with your choice of 27 stain options and 20 paint options. It includes metal knobs on the drawer. The pictured desk is shown in Brown Maple with Smoke (OCS-121) stain. Also available in a 60″ width: Woodland Shaker 60″ Desk

Wood Species

Red Oak

Rustic Quarter Sawn White Oak offers a unique blend of rustic charm and durability. T his wood is sawn at a 90-degree angle, resulting in a distinct grain pattern and increased stability. The quarter-sawn process creates a distinctive, often “tiger stripe” grain pattern, especially in the radial direction. White oak is a durable hardwood, known for its strength and resistance to wear and tear, making it suitable for furniture. Rustic QSWO embraces natural imperfections like knots and burls, giving it a more rustic or farmhouse aesthetic.
