Description

Model number 2711Duet Addi Chair by Whittier Wood Products

The Addi Collection, a spin-off of the Addison Collection, was inspired by mid-century styles. The remarkable combination of American Alder and Black Walnut hardwoods creates a stunning two tone. With just a clear coat, the natural beauty of the Black Walnut is accentuated by the sustainably-sourced Alder.  Additionally, a fluid, contemporary shape and splayed legs are specific to this collection. The Addi Collection combines simplicity and beauty for today’s modern settings while maintaining a contemporary vibe.

About the 2711Duet Addi Chair:

The Addi chair is constructed of Solid Alder, Solid Black Walnut, and Black Walnut veneer. It features a subtly scooped seat and contoured back, making this chair both beautiful and comfortable.   In addition, the bottom of the chair features adjustable glides. The Alder Legs are visible through the seat and locked in place with a contrasting Walnut wood wedge. The Addi chair pairs well with the 2420Duet writing desk and the 2909Duet round table  and can also be combined with any of the items in the Addison Collection to create an eclectic look. This chair works well in a small room, apartment, or loft. It is sold individually and partially assembled.

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
