The 688KF Hawthorne Office Chair offers the perfect seating option for your home office. A comfortably scooped seat and adjustable height make it easy for both adults and children to work in comfort.  The seat height adjusts from as low as 17-3/4 inches to as high as 21-1/4 inches.  In addition, the five star base ensures stability, while the easy roll casters work well on most flooring surfaces. This durable office chair is made from sustainably-sourced, solid Alder wood.  It ships partially assembled and in your choice of three beautiful factory finishes: Pecan, Java, and Glazed Antique Cherry.  Pair this beautiful office chair with any of our solid wood Office Desks (sold separately).

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
