About the 1115Duet Nightstand:

The 1115Duet Nightstand is made from solid American Alder and Black Walnut hardwood veneer. This nightstand features solid Black Walnut drawer pulls on all of the three drawers. Each drawer is a different size, giving you several options for concealed storage. All drawers have full extension metal ball bearing drawer slides with English dovetail construction. This nightstand has a fitted back, as well as fluted wood dowel and slip miter joinery for strength and stability. It features a dust bottom and an anti-tipping safety mechanism that reduces the risk of tip-over. Furthermore, there are adjustable levers on all of the legs. This solid wood nightstand comes fully assembled. It works perfectly in a smaller bedroom, apartment, or loft and pairs well with any of the pieces in the Addison Collection.

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
