About the 1632 Alder McKenzie Bookcase Hutch:

This McKenzie Bookcase Hutch blends beauty with function. The spacious shelves allow for creativity and versatility where you can display your favorite pieces. This unit features 6 adjustable shelves (3 on each side of the center reinforcement), a fitted back, and cord access. In addition, it includes a tipping restraint in order to provide extra stability. Combine it with the 48 inch wide base unit, model number 1631 (sold separately) to create a step back bookcase. Together, they will measure 84 inches tall.

It comes fully assembled and is also available unfinished or in the following finish options:

Stained (Glazed Antique Cherry, Pecan, Java, Fieldstone, Hazelnut, or Natural Alder)
Select Sherwin Williams® paint (Snowbound or Tricorn Black)
Two-tone finish

All two-tone finishes feature the paint color of your choosing on the outside and the clear natural Alder finish on the inside and the shelves. Only the painted finishes are available for the two-tone option.

This hutch (1632) ships assembled.
As a result, it is too large for both UPS and FedEx.
For a shipping quote, proceed to checkout and select the “R+L Carriers” option under shipping.
We also offer FREE local pickup at our Wilmington, North Carolina location.

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
