The Addison Collection was inspired by mid-century styles. The remarkable combination of American Alder and Black Walnut hardwoods creates a stunning two tone. With just a clear coat, the natural beauty of the Black Walnut accentuates the lighter colored, sustainably-sourced Alder.  Additionally, a fluid, contemporary shape and splayed legs are specific to this collection. About the 2010DUET Addison Dining Table:

The Addison Dining Table features a simple design that works perfectly in a smaller dining space.  The two-tone contrast creates a subtle, but elegant, feel while offering a modern design.  The multi-step finish resists most liquids and heat for up to 24 hours.  In addition, the splayed legs include adjustable levelers for your convenience. This table sits up to six adults comfortably. Combine this table with the Addi Chair to complete your look.

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
