All Archbold platform beds feature a redesigned platform rail system. This new design replaces the need for a plywood support panel. All slats are nested between guide cleats, in order to ensure that each slat is securely held in the optimal location. Additionally, 12 slats will be secured to the the rails providing support for the mattress and added strength to the assembled bed. An additional foot in the middle of the bed frame provides center support

It can be sanded, painted, or stained and dries easily. When stained, it blends well with walnut or cherry. It is them most abundant hardwood in the Pacific Northwest.
