About the 2403 Lateral File Cabinet:

This two-drawer file cabinet offers functional storage with exquisite design. The two roomy drawers glide open smoothly with English dovetail drawer construction and full extension ball bearing slides.  This file cabinet also has a solid plank top, one locking drawer, and two letter/legal file drawers.  The files run front to back in either letter or legal configuration, in order to optimize all the available storage space.  Furthermore, it also includes an anti-tipping mechanism that allows for only one drawer to open at a time.  It is available factory finished only in three gorgeous stains: Java, Glazed Antique Cherry, and Pecan.  Combine this cabinet with any of the pieces in the McKenzie Collection.

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
