About the 3503 McKenzie Sofa Back Table:

The McKenzie Sofa Back Table offers clean lines and subtle details.  It features a solid Alder plank top and three drawers for concealed storage. The drawers slide open quickly and easily on full extension ball bearing slides, and feature English dovetail drawer construction. Use this table as a traditional sofa table or pair it with the 1500 mirror as an entry table.  The lower shelf offers additional space for storage or display.  The McKenzie Sofa Back Table ships factory finished only in three gorgeous stains: Java, Glazed Antique Cherry, and Pecan.  It comes partially assembled and is easy to assemble for your convenience.  Pair this table with any of the pieces in the McKenzie collection in order to create a cohesive look.

Wood Species

Alder is a species native to the Pacific Northwest. It grows in an approximate 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Alder regenerates naturally and prolifically and flourishes in areas where other species might not survive. Its unique nitrogen-fixing properties enrich root systems, add nutrients to the soil and assist neighboring plants to establish and thrive. Also, since Alder develops so quickly, it helps prevent soil erosion and provides protection to more delicate and slow-growing species such as Douglas Fir, Cedar and Hemlock.
